Event Details

This special collection of papercuts evokes the myths and legends of Knaresborough. These delicate, beautiful, dreamlike pieces speak to the towns distinct character and are on show by its riverside.

Douglas has been creating papercuts by hand since 2011. His work draws on pattern making, Celtic knotwork, the natural world and mythology. This collection is, in part, the work of a storyteller who is interested in exploring and engaging his audience in new ways with the rich folklore of the town.

Douglas will also be leading a papercutting workshop during the festival where you will be able to create your own version of one of the artworks on display at the Black Mulberry.

Limited edition papercuts and cyanotype prints of the collection will be available through his website from the 12th of August 2022.
