William Duerden Exhibition

Born and raised in Burnley, Lancashire, William relocated with his family to Knaresborough in 1976. His artistic style has evolved over the years, beginning with painting British wildlife onto large cobbles and pieces of slate, which he enjoyed giving to friends and family as gifts. In the 1990’s his attention became focused on creating more abstract artworks. His interest in music, art, antiques and collectables are evident in the inspiration, imagination and use of materials in each of his paintings. Incorporating, not only acrylic paint, permanent ink, but images salvaged from magazines, and even foil chocolate wrappers collected by his grandchildren. Each piece of art can take many months, even years to complete… whenever inspiration strikes.
