Sat 15th August, St John’s Church bell-tower. Demonstration of bell-ringing on the 250-year old bells. 11:30am and 2:00pm.

The Bells of St John’s, having been installed here in 1774, have been ringing out across the town for over 250 years. Come and learn more about the English style of bell-ringing known as “change-ringing”, how and why bells are rung. See demonstrations illustrating and explaining some different types of ringing that you may hear.

Numbers limited to 15 per session. Each session will last around 60 minutes, and will include the opportunity to see our bells. Access to the ringing-room is via a spiral staircase of around 53 steps.
