THE FABULOUS MARTYN ROPER

A bass guitarist, double bass player, guitarist & banjoist, Martyn’s been involved in acts all over the world in addition to playing in every corner of Britain, spanning genres including blues, brass band, rock, ragtime, jazz, soul, funk, rockabilly, and country. A huge fan of old blues, Martyn’s been influenced by artists such as Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie Johnson, Jimmie Rodgers, Memphis Minnie, & Bukka White. Using foot drums, he recreates the bluesy sound of RL Burnside and John Lee Hooker & the blues and garage-rock sound of The White Stripes and Black Keys. Featuring; harmonica, guitar, banjo, & foot-drums, Martyn draws from a set list of about sixty traditional songs and ten originals, it’s music that gets people foot stomping and smiling.
