Amy Horton - Drawing from Nature. Amy's work combines detailed drawings with a deep interest in wildlife and place, layering wildlife studies over vintage maps and positioning each species within landscapes that are part of its habitat. This exhibition showcases a collection of detailed coloured pencil drawings that combine wildlife imagery with vintage maps. Each artwork places animals within landscapes connected to their natural habitats, migration routes, or historical ranges, creating a dialogue between nature, geography, and storytelling. Through careful observation and intricate mark-making, the artist highlights the beauty and individuality of each species while encouraging reflection on conservation and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. The use of vintage maps adds layers of history and context, inviting viewers to explore connections between species, place, memory, and environmental change through richly detailed and visually engaging works.
