Event Details

Art at The Hub returns for FEVA 2025 with a vibrant mixed exhibition from six Yorkshire-based artists. Hosted in the welcoming community space of St John’s Hub, the show brings together contemporary painting, ceramics, textiles, and jewellery.

Mel Lisney creates richly layered abstract works using intuitive processes. Her images explore inner landscapes and environmental textures, inviting mindful contemplation and imaginative response.

Chris Woodard, a self-taught artist, paints seascapes and landscapes in acrylic and pastel. His expressive use of colour captures the emotive energy of Yorkshire’s natural beauty.

Andrew Stratford’s atmospheric paintings explore the fleeting interplay of light, landscape, and emotion. Inspired by coastal walks and wild places, his work hovers between abstraction and representation, evoking the mood and essence of the natural world.

David Ferguson exhibits “Shards of Memory,” a ceramics series combining textured slab-built forms with themes of archaeology and memory. His work connects material and metaphor.

Amanda Toase presents intricate stitched textiles that explore emotional resonance through layered fabric and thread. Her practice engages with silence, memory, and the human condition.

B. Smith Jewellery (Beverley Smith) shows handcrafted jewellery pieces created from natural materials and silver. Each design is unique, tactile, and rich in colour and form.

St John’s Hub provides a fabulous setting to display the work of six exciting artists. The exhibits include local landscapes, textile art, jewellery, ceramics and abstracts. The adjoining café offers good refreshments and wonderful views.
